Edmonton’s popular Green Shack summer program is officially underway, running July 2 to August 21 at parks across the city. This free, drop-in initiative is for children aged 6–12 (though younger kids can attend with a guardian), offering fun activities every weekday in the morning and afternoon.
🎨 What’s on Offer?
- Open daily: 10:30 am–1:30 pm and 2:30 pm–5:30 pm (some sites run full-day)
- Activities: Organized games, sports, crafts, music, drama, and weekly special events planned by trained staff—free and fun for all
- Safety & Support: Staff are first-aid trained, vetted via security clearance, and especially skilled at engaging kids in safe play.
🎶 New This Year: Daily Performance Shows
For the first time, the Edmonton Arts Council has added free live performances at Green Shacks—five days a week at 11 am and 2:30 pm. You might catch acts like the Brasstactics bringing music and outdoor theatre to neighbourhood parklands.
